Overseas Highway (Highway 1)

A1A Scenic Byway

Stretching from Key West to Fernandina Beach, the approximately 339-mile A1A Scenic Byway is a spectacular coastal ride. Here, you not only find beauty on the open road, coupled with front-row ocean views, but also five centuries of history in the US’ oldest city, St Augustine. This legendary route features state and national parks, stunning beaches and charming beach towns, culinary experiences, and unique attractions filled with the arts, history, and culture.

Ormond Scenic Loop and Trail

Located near Daytona Beach, this 30-mile loop combines beautiful coastal views, tree-canopied roads, and a glimpse of Florida’s past. Motorcyclist Jan C, says “The Ormond Scenic Loop and Trail is one of the prettiest motorcycle rides in the area. Riding along the river in the back estuaries is simply stunning. It truly looks like old Florida. You can end up on the A1A and continue the ride along the ocean. A great way to see Florida’s back roads.”

Ocala National Forest

The scenery, roads, and trail networks combine to make Ocala National Forest a popular destination for motorcycle and off-road riders. You’ll ride through winding roads, dense forests, and around the crystal-clear waters of Lake George. Experience the serenity of the forest and be on the lookout for wildlife as you navigate this picturesque route. You might even spot an alligator sunning itself by the side of the road! North Florida Twisties

Head to North Florida for some exhilarating twisty roads. Okeechobee Scenic Trail

The Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail – which goes by the acronym LOST – circles the lake of its namesake. It’s the largest freshwater lake in Florida. This route will take you through sugarcane plantations and rural Old Florida, providing a sense of tranquility as you journey around the lake.

Apalachicola National Forest

Beginning in the city of Apalachicola, travel northeast and loop around Apalachicola National Forest, skirting the Panhandle coast before arriving back in Apalachicola. Or you could connect Tallahassee and Apalachicola and travel on the Apalachee Parkway, through the Apalachicola National Forest. Experience the beauty of the largest national forest in the state of Florida, ride past rivers and creeks, and immerse yourself in the natural splendor of North Florida. Visit some motorcycle-friendly hangouts

Orlando has a growing motorcycle community with several establishments catering to riders. Look for motorcycle-friendly bars, cafés, and restaurants, where you can meet fellow riders, swap stories, and enjoy camaraderie. For example, there’s Johnny’s Fillin’ Station, which has excellent food including award-winning burgers, and Johhny’s Other Side, across the road from Johnny’s Fillin’ Station. You’ll often see motorcycles parked up outside. Then there are biker bars such as Shovelhead Lounge, with live music, karaoke, and great food.
